Choose a class to get started.
Below is a guide to show you a little bit of what to expect on your first class in Aberdeen Judo's senior program.
The first thing to know is when to arrive. Senior practices begin at 7:00pm, though it's a good idea to check our calendar to make sure.
Members usually arrive about ten minutes before class begins to make sure they're prepared, however if you're joining on the first night of the season, it may be a good idea to show up earlier than that to sign paperwork, arrange your judo uniform, and make sure you're ready to go.
Arrival
When you arrive, parking can be found at the front lot of Morfco Industries or along the street.
Next, the entrance is on the left-hand side of the building by the garage door, clearly marked with an Aberdeen Judo sticker. You're welcome to just walk right in, turning left through another door.
When you enter, we ask that you remove your outdoor footwear and come upstairs in socks, ensuring that the dojo remains clean.
Down the hallway to your right you can find our washroom facilities and straight ahead you'll see the staircase leading up to the dojo.
Inside
Inside you'll see our mat area, alongside which you can place a water bottle for easy access during water-breaks at practice.
From here, feel free to ask any of our judoka (participants) about any questions you may have and enjoy your judo practice!
