Senior Program
Our senior program is for everyone from early teens to older adults. Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 pm.
The lead instructor for the senior practices is Sensei John Huntley, 7th degree black belt.

About the Senior Program
The senior program operates from the beginning of September to the end of June, with prospective members joining at any time.
Grading examinations are held on a regular basis, and advancement is based on the individual's commitment to judo.
For Fitness
Overall fitness and improved movement skills are the aims of our senior practices and members work on those aspects that fit their personal goals.
For Self-Defense
Sessions cover all areas of stand-up as well as mat-work techniques.
Self defense movements are incorporated into our program at various times.
For Competitors
Our competitive members have very good success at provincial, national, and international tournaments, returning with a fair number of medals and trophies.

Meet Our Instructor

Sensei John Huntley
Senior class practice sessions at Aberdeen Judo are under the direct supervision of Sensei John Huntley, 7th degree black belt, licensed by the Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo, Japan.
An International Judo Federation licensed IJF 'B' tournament referee and international level competitor, Sensei Huntley competes in the All Japan High Dan Tournament held yearly at the Kodokan in Tokyo.
